The Valentine Cruise

Last night, Gel and I celebrated valentines aboard MV Tennessee Walker. A couple of days before, Benz of W@W posted in the yahoo group alternative ways to celebrate valentines and this was one of them... a valentines dinner cruise aboard the ship sailing from the PICC grounds along the Manila Bay. It was a beautiful evening... weather was good, the breeze is softly blowing and it was just perfect. We were actually on a group date with my sister andAbi with her husband. We were supposed to be joined by another couple, my friend Thess and her husband but work got in the way (Boyet, her husband, couldn't get out of the office).

The evening started off with a buffet dinner around 6:30, they roast beef with mashed potatoes, Chicken Flambe, Baked Salmon, Buttered Vegetables and Arroz ala Cristina. It was a good selection... I personally enjoyed the baked salmon. For dessert we were served Decadent Chocolate Cake and Blueberry Cheesecake.

After dinner we were invited to the upper deck of the boat for some sight-seeing and live music. The first group of singers, Darryl Shy and Kaloy, only that they totally forgot it was a valentines cruise and instead sang non-romantic songs (think indie music and african songs)! We instead just concentrated to the beautiful view of the Roxas Blvd. It was georgeous! The coconut trees were amazing and the city lights were gorgeous! The next band - R18 was a little bit better, she sang love songs but her voice was a little bit too loud. During this time we were already at the lower deck and the front side of the boat, enjoying the breeze and the sights.

The cruise ended at around 8pm... it was really short... wish we could have hidden under the tables so we can still join the next round... but hey, every good thing needs to end :)
