Halloween!

Wow! It'l be another long weekend! I can't wait! 3 whole days of bumming around the house...mmm a piece of heaven! I wonder whats on TV! I have seen a couple of horrors showing over the weekend...i'll try to catch them. I have also seen the teaser on Magandang Gabi Bayan Halloween Special... looks scary! I remember a few years back, me and my sister would always watch out for the MGB Holiday Special...it was always soo freaky! My sister would always have nightmares after watching it but she still watches it!

I am not sure how are we going to the cemetery this Monday... with the recent robbery, I don't think my dad would allow us to leave the house unattended that quick. It would probably just the two of them going to my lola's puntod...but I also want to go. I miss my nanay (that was what I call her when she was still alive) so much and the yearly visit on her remains satisfy a bit of that longing.

I am a lola's girl...I have always been! As a child I slept beside her, while my younger sister slept with my parents. She took care of me while my mom was still working, gave me a bath at our "lababo" then. She showered me with junk food and made sure I get my afternoon siestas on time. I miss her so much! I still dream of her...sometimes...and waking up from those dreams is always the hardest. I remember her face...very vividly. She was a sight to behold. I love her so much.

When she had that stroke that took her life, I was about 14 years old, we were watching TV in the living room. We always watch TV everynight. There was no cable yet that time. I couln't exactly remember what we were watching. I just remember looking at her... she was staring at me. After that was a blur. All i can remember was my dad carrying her on his arms, taking her to the hospital. My sister and I was left in the house. We saw her the next day, on the hospital bed, in coma.

I cannot explain how painful it is to lose someone you love dearly. But I know she loved me and I loved her. I remember telling her way way back that I want her to be present on my wedding day. And now that I am preparing for my big day...I know that she is watching over me...I know that she will be there.

Nanay, for all the memories you have given me, for all the love you have shared with me, for giving me my mother who is the greatest mom on earth... I thank you.

Joel Bautista

Went to Joel Bautista last Saturday. I was actually impressed with this guy, he is not the typical bading who is loud and machika. He is very prim and proper. I like how he handles his clients, very straightforward. He tells you exactly what he thinks... very organized based on what I can gather. He charges reasonably din, within my budget naman.
I have another designer in mind, Frederick Peralta. I will schedule a meeting with him next week. I will try to resched with Njork again... though I am beginning to lose interest on them with all the negative feedbacks i'm hearing. Plus their place is so far pa. But I really like their style so I guess I will give them one more chance.
Based on our timelines, I need to decide and book a designer before the year ends. I have more or less one and a half months (take out the last two weeks of December because of the holidays). I hope I have enough time :)

Wedding Preps again

I am getting back with the preps again! I need to set an appointment with Joel Bautista this week and re-set my appointment with Njork. I can feel the energy coming back to me again :)

I need to rebuild my wedding files since all the files in my laptop were gone. Everything was gone... all the pictures, the cost estimates, the supplier contacts... but I think I can re-do everything again. I just need some time again... that was a good 9 months worth of research down the drain! But no use to fuss over this now, I just need to get back on my feet again and start again... it shouldn't be any problem since I think I can still remember where everything came from (I hope!)

I thought it was just a typical Sunday for us....

It was a normal Sunday morning, my mom wake me up around 8:00 am. So I lazily stood up, looked for my ponytail, tied my hair up and went down for breakfast. I first saw my dad in the dining table, drinking his coffee. My sister came down after me and all four of us then ate hurriedly breakfast. After that we all took our bath and by around 9:00 am went off for the 10:00 am mass at St. Peregrine. That was our Sunday routine. My mom and dad would usually fight over closing of the doors and the gate. We do not have a maid and so no one will be left in the house so my dad would always double check the lock of the front door and the padlock on the main gate. He would always scold me and my sister, telling us that we should also do our part and make sure everything is locked and closed. I have never really thought that our house would be a target of robbers because ours was not a big house, it’s just a simple house, though newly renovated, it is still simple and understated.

After mass, we ate at a nearby Jollibee coz my dad had to go to office at 2:00pm. While eating we decided to go to Landmark Makati afterwards since my dad will not be home and we wanted to buy new decorations for the Christmas tree. To cut it short... we had a great afternoon, shopping and eating. At around 4pm we decided to go home already. While on the way I dropped by my office in Bicutan to get something, and when we got to Alabang, we decided to pick some grocery...mainly food. Then at around 7:00pm, we finally went home. I drove home coz my dad is still at the office

When we got home, my mom went down the car, followed by my sister. My mom opened the front gate but was surprised it was not locked. Thinking that my dad was home, she proceeded to opening the front door. But as she held the doorknob, it fell off! She yelled and ran in, so did my sister. I was still in the car but when I heard my mom scream; I hurriedly went down and followed her. When I saw our living room, I felt I was already dreaming. I didn't know it is true. We were robbed! My sister and I went up the stairs into our rooms and found everything in disarray! Clothes thrown out of our cabinets, beddings flopped up... everything was a mess!

Between that time and today, I still cannot remember when was it that I was able to absorb that we got robbed. I feel I am in a daze. All money and jewelry was taken, plus my dads watch and my laptop. All appliances were intact, including the TV, VCR and component.
I'm sorry that this happened to us, but i'm still grateful that no one got hurt. Money and possessions can be recovered they say, but the feeling of security, I think is one most important thing that those robbers took from us that is very hard to come by again.

Meeting with Marianne Lazaro

I have met her this afternoon, I went with my mom. She seems really nice... but guess what... no sketches for me, no swatches, no sample gowns I can look at. Hmmm you guessed it right... one name off my list again....

I called Joel Bautista but he was full today, hopefully by next week I'd be able to meet him. I think he is within my budget :D I e-mailed him kasi a sample gown I really like and asked him to quote. Mabisa pala yun! He did quote and I almost jumped up and down. I know he is very good and have heard lots of good feedback on him na rin naman :D

On Michi, mejo i'm having second thoughts on calling her, I e-mailed her kasi and asked her to quote the same design I sent Joel and she quoted almost double the quote of Joel!

Haaayyy... the designer hunt continues :p

On BMs dresses - take 2

This is another dress I really like, the prints are such divine!! Evelyn, the designer I visited yesterday showed me swatches very similar to these prints, only a little orangy. Again I like it really but i'm concerned that it will be off if paired with men in Tuxedos. I need help!!

Designer Search

I went to two designers today... first stop - Dreammaker Couture in BF, grabe super mahal ha!! 50,000 for 5 heads... and simple pa yung designs nun ha! Gosh! Second stop - New Creations in Pacita. This one I like... tagal namin nagusap about what's in right now and whats out. She showed me this beautiful floral organza fabric which I absolutely LOOVE! We decided to use them for my entourage's gowns. I can already imagine how beautiful the gowns will be!!! As for my gown, I asked her to design a gown similar to the Romona Keveza gown I like and her sketch was amazing!! The cut and shape will be like the picture, it'l also have the ruffles at the hem, plus she suggested to put swarovskis and silver metallic embroidery in the chest part. Plus it will be a two-piece gown with a detachable 4-meter train, still will ruffles at the hem too!! I LOOOVE this even more than the picture I have!! AND CAN YOU BELIEVE IT IS STILL WITHIN MY BUDGET!!! How lucky can a girl be??? (grin!)

I have an appointment with Njork this coming Wednesday, I have heard of a lot of raving on these two fellows I just have to visit them. I am not sure though if I can afford them, but if not, atleast I have back-up now =)
